An
untamed land of infinite space, punctuated by a myriad of lakes,
strewn with immense forests where the only sound to be heard is
the whistling of the wind. A grandiose land that inspires freedom
and liberty.
At
first a young naturalist in the nature reserve of Cape Tourmente
on the shores of the majestic St Lawrence River (recognized around
the world as an exceptional bird observation center), Éric
Tardif became a sculptor. His passion for wild birds, their natural
elegance and gracious movement became the inspiration for his creativity.
By
using steam, he forms walnut, Canadian maple, ash, cherry and elm.
giving life to birds in movement. The choice of wood adds touches
that are sometimes voluptuous, sometimes solemn.
From
his passion for nature in all its wild vastness comes gracious shapes
crystallized by the artist in all their intimacy and immortalized
in their movement. The treatment of the wood by the artist becomes
the singular expression of his untamed spirit.

This
virtual gallery presents the most recent works of the artist.
